Owner & Chief Floral Designer of Something Special

A lifelong painter and designer, Lisa’s artistic journey began with studies in fine arts and painting at the Art Students League in New York City.

Her career has always been rooted in creativity. She began as an interior designer, where she created dramatic, oversized calla lilies from leather as some of her first floral-inspired pieces. After moving to Connecticut, Lisa continued developing her eye for design at Earth Garden in New Canaan, while also pursuing bespoke home painting projects, including hand-painted furniture and floors.

Lisa later joined the Old Greenwich Flower Shop, where she spent years mastering the art of floral design. When the Kies family sold the shop, Lisa followed her passion and opened Something Special in Old Greenwich in 2011.

Today, Lisa brings her artistic eye, love of design, and decades of floral experience to every arrangement. From everyday moments to life’s most special celebrations, she creates thoughtful, elegant designs that have become a part of the lives of families throughout Old Greenwich, Riverside, Stamford, and Greenwich.
